About this course

Build practical skills for useful, fair and evidence-based internal quality management system audits. This online course is designed for internal auditors, quality managers and supervisors who need to plan audit work, understand processes and turn evidence into clear conclusions.

Follow two original fictional businesses: Koru Precision traces an accepted drawing change through manufacturing and release; ClearPath Services investigates booking changes across customer support, live systems and shift handovers. Make decisions, compare explanatory feedback and practise interviewing, sampling, findings, reporting and corrective-action follow-up.

Twelve detailed lessons combine colourful interactive presentation slides, twelve clickable illustrated walkthroughs, twenty-four decision activities and a marked knowledge check in every lesson. Build a practical audit brief, plan relevant process trails, distinguish requirements from optional methods, protect confidential information and recognise the limits of samples. Learn to connect an applicable requirement, objective evidence and a clear statement of any gap.

The course covers audit programme priorities, objectives, scope and criteria, independence and competence, preparation and opening discussions, process and risk focus, interviews and observation, record and digital evidence, findings and reports, cause investigation, corrective action and effectiveness checks. Practical auditing guidance is distinguished from the requirements actually applicable to your organisation. Use your organisation's authorised standards and approved requirements for exact clause assessment.

Allow approximately three hours: 150 minutes for lessons, activities and checks, plus 30 minutes for the final exam. Complete and pass all twelve lesson checks, then answer thirty final questions. At least twenty-four correct answers, 80%, are required to pass. Learner progress is saved through the existing student system.

The fee is NZ$50 plus 15% GST: NZ$7.50 GST, NZ$57.50 total per learner. Successful learners receive an Access Food course-completion certificate. Completion supports auditor development and further workplace practice; it does not confer auditor certification, organisation certification, ISO or NZQA accreditation, or automatic competence for every audit assignment.

How you will learn

Move through presentation-style slides at your own pace. Select topics to reveal more detail, work through practical scenarios and complete the knowledge checks along the way. The final exam presents one question at a time with an answer-review screen before submission. Your student account saves completed lessons and assessment results.

Assessment and completion

Complete and pass all 12 lesson knowledge checks, then complete the 30-question final exam. At least 24 correct answers (80%) are required to pass. The 24 practice decisions provide feedback on every choice and do not count towards the exam. Existing assessment retry arrangements apply.

Access Food course-completion certificate after passing the assessment. Completion supports development; it does not confer auditor certification, organisation certification, ISO or NZQA accreditation, or automatic workplace competence.

Before you enrol

No formal qualification is required. Familiarity with workplace processes is helpful. Access to your organisation's authorised ISO 9001 standard and approved procedures is recommended for workplace activities and exact clause assessment. Fictional cases are provided for learners without workplace records.
